The papers consist primarily of correspondence to Barnard from his father, Richard W. Habersham, his mother Sarah Elliot Habersham. his sister Catherine Elliot Habersham, his sister-in-law Harriet E. Mathewes, his brothers Alexander Wylly Habersham and Francis Barnard Habersham, and his grandmother. C. Elliot. She lived in London, Florence and New York City with her parents and sisters, Grace Marie - also a writer - and Marguerite, an opera singer. Ms. Hall married literary critic and advisor to Charles Scribners Sons, William Crary Brownell. She wrote a series of romantic novels in the early 1900s and was a friend of many prominent writers. She and her sister, Grace, lived in New York City. Ms. Hall died in 1961 at the age of 97. This collection contains primarily the manuscripts of Ms. Hall's novels. See also MS 209.
